Any suggestions? > Piper apparently didn't specify best glide data in their original flight tests. In the aircraft information manual for the Comanche 250, put together by Doug Killough and advertised in the Comanche Flyer, he states that the best glide speed at various gross weights is as follows: 2900 lbs. 100 mph 2700 lbs. 96 mph 2500 lbs. 92 mph 2300 lbs. 88 mph He determined these numbers by a combination of various rules of thumb and verified, for at least some of the weights, with his own flight testing.
